Children's Home Society of North Carolina - Family Preservation Program

The primary goal of the Family Preservation program is to keep families intact by preventing the removal of children from their homes. High Point Protect Our Nation's Youth (PONY)

High Point Protect Our Nation's Youth (PONY) is a local branch of an international non-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to building character, courage and loyalty in local area youth by providing competitive and fun baseball and softball programs. The Guilford County Teen Court helps youth offenders ages 6-17 whose behavior consists of a misdemeanor violation of the law for Class I, II or III , and who are actively enrolled in an educational program. Through their participation in the program, they will develop an understanding of consequences for negative actions and learn about self and community accountability. St. Mary's Music Academy

St. Mary's Music Academy is a community music school for children and adults working to enrich the musical environment of High Point and the greater Piedmont Triad region. The MIND Group - GWYN 10

The GWYN 10 initiative was started with the support of local basketball star and UNC-Asheville player Brittany Gwyn to design and implement programming for aspiring female athletes. The program's main goals are to inspire confidence in young girls, provide them with an outlet for athletic exposure, and cultivate values of self-esteem, respect, strength, and character.

The MIND Group - High Point City Ball HAWGS

The High Point City Ball HAWGS is an athletic training program designed to introduce young boys and girls to the world of competitive sports, namely basketball. All practices and games are scheduled  in the Fall and Spring basketball seasons. Safe Place is an outreach and prevention program for young people who are need of immediate help and safety. Children can go to any place with the yellow "Safe Place" sign and an adult will help them. Safe places include libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses, and social service facilities. A Youth Focus staff member will arrive on site and connect the child with a counselor.

YWCA - After-School

The after-school program provides programs for elementary and middle school students who attend the following schools: Johnson Street, Kirkman Park, Montilieu Elementary, Northwood, Oak Hill, Oakview, Phoenix, Shady Brook, Triangle Lake, Union Hill, Ferndale Middle School, Penn Griffin Middle School, Welborn Middle School, and Allen Jay Preparatory Academy.  Students are provided with an afternoon snack, homework help, low-cost field trips, and swimming. On teacher workdays, the program operates from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The cost of the program includes $20 for program registration fee, $25 for yearly child membership and $45 for first week of care. Sibling discounts are available.

The Latino Family Center offers a mentoring program for middle and high school girls and boys through personal and social skill development to build self-esteem.  Services offered include a STEM club, an Art Club, and higher education guidance. The Center also offers a community access program (El Pueblo) that provides outreach services, information, and referral services to Latinos, including DACA renewals.  There are also several leadership programs available.
