The Greatest of These Film Screening and Registration Form
As part of our compassion effort, Resilience High Point will be hosting a screening and discussion for a movie called ‘The Greatest of These’. It tells the story of Pastor Bruce Deel and the development of the innovative approach of Atlanta’s City of Refuge. This center works with and supports those on the margins, including addicts, sex workers, and gang members. Pastor Deel's book, Trust First, was a community read in High Point in 2021.
The movie is particularly relevant given the long-discussed day center in High Point, the closure of shelters, and pending state legislation concerning the banning of homeless sleeping in public spaces. Rev. Carl Vierling will lead a discussion after the screening.
The screening is on Thursday, November 5th, at 6:00pm at St. Mary's Community Life Center (205 W. Farriss Ave. in High Point).
