Alcoholics' Home, Inc. (House of Prayer)

House of Prayer Inc. is a residential treatment center for adult males struggling with alcoholism. This faith-based center not only provides a spiritual treatment community, but they also have a partnership with a local thrift store that is open to the public. A fee of $1,000 is required for residents with an income and $500 for residents without an income in order to participate in the program. All potential participants will have to undergo an interview process and must have a valid Social Security number and photo ID.

Children's Home Society of North Carolina - Family Preservation Program

The primary goal of the Family Preservation program is to keep families intact by preventing the removal of children from their homes. Preservation services are provided for a period of 28 days, 10 hours per week, with a minimum of 40 service hours to address the unique needs of the family and help them create a more stable home for their child.

New Life Family Outreach - Support Groups

The support groups help women who experienced the loss of baby and men and women who have survived sexual abuse find hope and healing. This is a Biblically-based program in a small group setting (limited to six people). The program lasts 8 weeks for women who experienced loss of baby and 9 weeks for sexual abuse survivors.

One Step Further, Inc. - Adult Mediation Services

The Adult Mediation Services provides adults experiencing legal conflicts the opportunity to talk about disagreements and consider methods for resolving conflicts. Any adult who has filed charges on another party or who had charges filed on them for a mediation-appropriate offense is served through Adult Mediation Services when the District Attorney refers the case to the program. It requires a $60 court-ordered mediation fee, a $40 administration fee for one or two charges, and $20 for each criminal case when there are 3+ cases.

The Guilford County Teen Court helps youth offenders ages 6-17 whose behavior consists of a misdemeanor violation of the law for Class I, II or III , and who are actively enrolled in an educational program. Through their participation in the program, they will develop an understanding of consequences for negative actions and learn about self and community accountability. Referral to participate in the program provides youth offenders with the opportunity to have their charge dismissed and not acquire a juvenile criminal record.

The Life Skills Program is intended for at-risk youth that are experiencing behavioral difficulties at school or in the community. The 20-hour long program offers classes in a variety of topics that are all aimed at empowering children to make healthier choices in their everyday lives. Children 9-13 years old will be placed in the Junior Life Skills Program and children 14-17 years old will be placed in the Senior Life Skills Program.

Safe Place is an outreach and prevention program for young people who are need of immediate help and safety. Children can go to any place with the yellow "Safe Place" sign and an adult will help them. Safe places include libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses, and social service facilities.
